Celeste Ames Duncan, CPA, Founding Member
Born to a family of entrepreneurs, Celeste always knew she’d one day run her own company—but it wasn’t until she discovered her passion for accounting that her dream began to take shape.
Growing up in southern California, Celeste was immersed in business from a young age, working alongside her parents in their small advertising agency for aviation enthusiasts. By the time she was 18, she had her own pilot’s license—and a dream of becoming a commercial pilot.
A college tax class modified that dream and sparked an enduring mission to help businesses navigate the intricacies of tax law. Confident and determined, Celeste landed a coveted internship at Ernst & Young after just one tax class—and jump-started an impressive career in tax that’s spanned 26 years—including 14 years with the Big Four.
With technical expertise and impeccable business insights, Celeste launched Strategic Focus Tax to live out her professional raison d’être—collaborating with business owners in real estate, manufacturing, retail and professional services to proactively manage taxes and make life a little easier for businesses and business owners.
Undeterred by challenges, Celeste is an avid trail runner who has conquered the Mount Ashland Hill Climb—13 miles with a 5,600-foot elevation gain. She’s also a backpacker and a downhill skier who loves to head to Mt. Hood with her family for a day in the snow.
